A CHARTER ORDINANCE EXEMPTING THE CITY OF STERLING, KANSAS FROM K.S.A. 1974 SUPP. 10-803, AND PROVIDING SUBSTITUTE AND ADDITIONAL PROVISIONS ON THE SAME SUBJECT, RELATING TO SIGNATURES ON WARRANTS AND WARRANT CHECKS.

Section 1. The City of Sterling, Kansas by the power invested in it by Article 12, Section 5 of the Constitution of the State of Kansas hereby elects to exempt itself from and make inapplicable to the K.S.A. 1974 Supp. 10-803, and provide substitute and additional provisions as hereinafter set forth in this ordinance. Such statutory provision is applicable to this city, but is not applicable uniformly to all cities.

Section 2. Warrants and warrant checks shall be signed by the city manager and by the city clerk of the City of Sterling, Kansas, and the seal, if any, of the said city need not be attached or impressed or shown by facsimile. In the absence of the city manager, the mayor is hereby authorized to sign warrants and warrant checks in place of the city manager. In the absence of the city clerk, the deputy city clerk is hereby authorized to sign warrants and warrant check-s in place of the city clerk.

Section 3. That a facsimile signature may be used as authorized by Article 40 of Chapter 75 of the Kansas Statutes Annotated.
